I have been contacted by several clients and residents concerning Linden Lab’s highly-controversial “OpenSpace” announcement and price-increase.
In Short: The new decisions do not affect us. Ironically, we have recently lowered our prices… Pretty cool, eh?
—- Details Below —-
The bel Niche Estate sims have always been hosted on Linden Lab’s newest Class 5 simulators. These machines are the fastest and most robust machines that Linden Lab currently offers. These full-performance machines are not changing.
The price-increase beginning on January 1st, 2009 apply only to the 1/4-capacity, 1/4 performance regions recently named “Open Space” regions (formerly called “Void” regions.) These regions, which are hosted using only %25 of a machine’s resources were intended for light-use, low-prim situations. Linden Lab is currently dissatisefied with how the public are using these light-use regions and are currently adjusting prices to discourage the increased use as cheap land. Our company does not currently use these cheaper, light-use machines for public estates or land sales.
The private individuals who currently rent these Open Space regions for personal use have been contacted individually. If you weren’t contacted by us, your home and current pricing remain rock-solid.
As always, contact us anytime for anything.

It’s time for the season’s first community meet and greet! Tuesday, October 14th we’ll be holding an open meeting for the residents (and friends) of the bel Niche Estate to meet with neighbors and discuss things around the neighborhood.
In the past, residents have loved the opportunity to meet face to face with their neighbors, chat about upcoming events, great places to see and even SL art, music and movies they think other creative types would enjoy! Belvedere residents always have the best recommendations
We’ll also be taking ideas and suggestions to attracting more cool neighbors to the area. We’d love all of your feedback at the meeting! Any ideas you have regarding getting more people into the neighborhood will be greatly appreciated.
We’ll announce the location at the time of both meetings.
Meeting #1 will be held at 2pm SLT
Meeting #2 will be held at 7pm SLT
Feel free to stop by at either meeting! Bring your friends!

I am very pleased to announce our latest member to the Belvedere creative pool
Aslyn Dufaux has signed on to be our latest community manager which means she’ll be around to help our residents with everything they’ll need.
If you get a chance, send her an IM and welcome her to the position. With her help, we’ll be seeing some new ideas come into the mix!
And if you have a problem, question or idea. Send it her way. We’ll get her feet wet right away with dealing with the day-to-day runnings of the bel Niche!
Welcome, Aslyn!

We would like to start gathering input from our residents about the creation of some public spaces here and around the bel Niche Estate. We’re putting the finishing touches on a little public beach in the bel Cove region and would like to design at least one, possibly two more spaces for gatherings and plain ol’ hanging out. If you have any ideas, locations, themes etc. that you would like to see implemented anywhere in the estate, feel free to post them below. After a few days of discussion we can start building your ideas.
As always, IM Lefty Belvedere anytime about anything!

Our estates all operate on one simple principle: All creations matter.
I know, it’s a little vague… So let me expound a little.
Firstly, all of our residents pay the same rates for prims (objects.) No matter how many a resident chooses to use, we don’t reward the people who buy lots and lots by giving them discounts. It just doesn’t make sense to over-charge the resident who needs less. This is the idea behind our flat-rate prim rates. Blocks of 140 prims costs you L$1250 per month and you can buy as many blocks as you need for your creations!
Secondly, when counting the prims you use on your plot we sorta fudge the numbers a bit. Our counting systems have built-in buffers of twenty prims so you’ll never be locked out of rezzing a few extra objects. Temporary overages are never a problem. If you bring out a special object to show your friends and it puts you over your limit by a few hours it’s OK with us! We’ll just IM you if you are over your limit for too long. There’s no need for strict rules when it comes to our creativity here in Second Life.
We use these flexible and bendable agreements so that your creations and projects come first and the limits come second. We always try to maintain a feeling of fluidity so that your experiences here are the best they can be. breezy
As always, feel free to comment below if you have any thoughts on the matter. We’re pretty darn proud of our custom system
